A joint meeting of the trails and outdoor recreation communities

American Trails and the Professional TrailBuilders Association (PTBA) are leading an effort to bring together the thought leadership of the trails and outdoor recreation communities. Since 2013, American Trails and PTBA have worked together on conference efforts but fully partnered for the first time for the 2023 International Trails Summit. We feel this joint effort is the best way to identify the opportunities and challenges that face the trails and outdoor recreation movement today and help chart the course for the future. This Summit will help potential partners to break out of traditional roles and thought processes in order to develop new ideas in areas of diversity, inclusion and equity, fundraising, political advocacy, use of technology, and innovation. We will use this Summit to establish the relevancy of trails and outdoor recreation nationally and elevate their role and value as an important public infrastructure priority. We are featuring the World Trails Network - Hub for the Americas at the 2023 Summit and are open to additional partnerships at future ITS.
